Target Pests: Thrips, Mealybugs, Spider Mites, Scale, and Aphids
Description: Lacewing larvae are generalist predators that feed on thrips, mealybugs, spider mites, scale, and aphids. It is very rare for lacewing larvae to mature to their adult stage when used indoors as our homes don't provide adequate nutrition or the proper environmental conditions. They are excellent for active infestations, but you can use them preventatively as well.
Indoor Life Expectancy: 10-14 days
Plants Treated:
1k: approx. 10
5k: approx. 20-30
10k: approx. 30+
Application: The bottle contains lacewing eggs in a rice hull substrate (with the exception of the 1k bottle which does not include any substrate), and you pour the contents onto the soil of your plants. The egg bottle is the most cost effective option for lacewings, however it can be difficult to distribute the tiny eggs evenly among your plants.
Tip: If growing in pon, leca, or other semi-hydro setups, pour the substrate onto a small cardboard platform or into a release box rather than directly onto the growing medium for easier cleanup.
