The insectary is only open Monday-Friday, and all orders are shipped priority overnight. Monday shipping is reserved for shipping freight orders and Thursday shipping is highly discouraged – if anything happens to the package during transit, it likely won’t turn up until Monday, potentially compromising the quality of the beneficials.
Exceptions exist in certain cases. Send us an email describing the situation. Recipient accepts liability.

Orders are shipped priority overnight and we receive tracking the evening before your package is supposed to be delivered. It usually comes in around 6pm EST, and you will receive a shipping confirmation email after we enter it into our system.

As soon as possible! It’s important to keep in mind that these are living organisms. The beneficial insects we offer come in a variety of forms and life stages. While each species is unique, in general, the sooner the beneficials are applied the better their efficacy.
-
While rare – as we can’t control what happens to the beneficial insects in shipment – quality issues can occur from delays within the UPS system. Our products are generally packaged to withstand one day delays in transit, but we will want to make sure no quality issues have arisen from the delay. In the event that that happens, we do guarantee free replacements, but we require proper documentation. (QC checklist)

All quality concerns must be reported to us within 24 hours of receipt.
More information is available on our Policies Page and in our QC Checklist

No! You want to apply your beneficials as soon as you receive them, with the exception of nematodes which can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. They are living organisms and as such have no shelf life. If you have a lot leftover, share them with a friend!
-
Yes, the insectary carefully packages the bugs with an eye on the weather for their destination. In fact, you may still receive bugs with ice packs in the winter depending on the route your package is taking. It’s actually better for the bugs to be colder rather than too warm because it slows their metabolism, essentially making them dormant. If you’re concerned your temperature may be too cold, send us a message before placing your order.

Release tutorials for our products are linked in your delivery date email and can also be found here. We also have the written instructions on each item’s page below the species’ description.

While many different species of predators can be used together on your houseplants, packaging and shipping them all together in one bottle flies in the face of industry standards and is a one-way ticket to pest treatment failure. Confined to a bottle or other package, the beneficials will predate on each other and you’ll end up with a limited number of them – and an uncertainty as to which species have actually survived.
-
All the beneficial insects we offer can be used together except for Cucumeris and Swirskii. You can also release them all at the same time! It’s not entirely impossible that some of the beneficials could eat each other, but it wouldn’t be enough to meaningfully impact your treatment plan. If you’re worried, you can wait 15-30 minutes between releasing each beneficial to minimize crossover impact.
